MedMat is an international and interdisciplinary publication for all aspects of medical materials, devices and systems. The submissions that are related to the fundamental research and clinical applications of materials in medicine science and engineering are strongly encouraged to submit, including but not limited to areas of diagnosis, therapy, repair, and replace diseased tissues or organs to maintain their functions. MedMat aims to provide a peer-reviewed platform for publishing original research papers, authoritative reviews, and rapid communications dealing with the most important pre-clinical and clinical issues of medical science and bioengineering.
The scope of the journal covers the medical materials that have been specifically and functionally designed or engineered in terms of their structures, physicochemical properties, biocompatibility, device fabrications and associated medical applications in following fields:
(I)Cardio-cerebrovascular and interventional materials and devices
(II)Orthopedic materials and instruments
(III)Dental materials and instruments
(IV)Skin and tissue-engineering materials
(V)Imaging materials and instruments
(VI) Medical sensing materials and devices
(VII)Nanomedicine
(VIII)Health care materials and devices
(IX)Chinese medicine and quantification
(X)Special surgical instrument materials, which are mainly used to induce regeneration of damaged tissues or organs, implanted devices (including tissue engineering products), sensing devices, targeted controlled release vectors and systems for drugs (vaccines, proteins, genes, etc.) that restore and enhance the normal function of tissues or organs.
The journal highlights ground-breaking research advances and technological developments that can address health challenges such as the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, next-generation drug delivery systems, regenerative medicine, implanted devices, tissue engineering, and translational medicine.
